Andrea Machalek

Andrea is the President & CEO of Machalek and has been with the company since February of 1997. Since her start, she has developed and maintained a team-orientated service culture to better serve the customers and employees. Before working at Machalek, Andrea's career had been in large companies first in financial analysis, then strategic planning and finally in turning around troubled business units. Working at Machalek for over ten years has taught Andrea more about true leadership as well maintaining an organization focused on profitable growth.

Andrea enjoys the dynamic team of fun, motivated and talented individuals she works with and laughs with everyday. As the President, Andrea enjoys the challenge of aligning the organization with the ever-changing marketplace to continuously improve the value of our offerings to our clients.

Andrea keeps herself busy away from work with her family. She has a 10 year old son and two daughters ages eight and six. All three are involved with soccer and a multitude of friends and activities. In her rare moments of free time she loves to read and play Dungeons & Dragons Online.

Jon Machalek

"Since the age of ten I have known that if I can ‘see it’ I can make it happen. This company has been a dream come true for me. I love working with all our employees as well as our wonderful customers throughout the country."

Jon launched the company in March of 1987 in Minneapolis, MN, after Machalek Publishing, his fathers company sold the majority of its assets.

At the start of Machalek Communications, there was one published card deck, NEW BUSINESSES-DEK. From the sales and marketing, production and list work to billing and collections, Jon completed all aspects of the deck as a one man team. Now, in the winter of 2006, Jon has a staff of 22 employees managing 7 different decks as well as a suite of online products. Currently he is the long term visionary for the company, focusing on new ventures and opportunities.

In his life outside of Machalek Communications, Jon enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, playing racquetball and basketball, trading stocks and commodities, bartering and hitting the lake to sea-doo or fish with his kids.

Nate Brown

Nate joined Machalek Communications in 2006. Nate brought with him a wide-breadth of experience in sales, marketing and business development. Prior to joining us, Nate achieved success in the medical products market, including starting his own business. Nate’s dealings in international business have taught him valuable lessons in teamwork and the importance of strong communication.

Nate admires Machalek’s commitment to customers, employees and the freedom to find innovative solutions in ever-changing environments. He also appreciates the sense of humor he finds in his clients and colleagues.

Nate enjoys working with some of the largest companies in the world to grow their sales and brand as well as putting new start-up companies in contact with vital new customers. "Machalek Communication’s ability to tailor a marketing campaign which: 1. Exceeds customer expectations. 2. Leverages multiple mediums (Print, Online and Email) 3. Is done at a cost-effective price is what we are all about."

In his free time Nate enjoys golf, politics and playing the acoustic guitar. Nate is also interested in traveling, boating and is hooked on fantasy football.

Deanna Morin

Deanna has been with Machalek Communications since January of 2005. As a Business Development Consultant, Deanna enjoys the meaningful relationships that she builds with her clients. She enjoys spending time on the phone with each and every one of them. She loves how relationships tend to flourish both personally and professionally.

Deanna admires the fact that Machalek sets her up to succeed by allowing her to work from home on occasion and the independence and freedom that surround her role. The small company environment enables each person to have a voice and to truly be involved in our day to day company decisions.

Outside of work, Deanna spends her time continually taking on home improvement projects and gardening. She also has three dogs and spends what is left of her day with them!

Jan Literski

Jan has been on the Machalek team since April 1999. She works as a Business Development Consultant from her home in Central Florida

Working with people and helping them develop new business is what Jan loves best. She also enjoys working for a company that is continually developing ways to help their customers reach niche markets cost effectively, especially in this ever changing business environment.

During her down time, Jan enjoys her children, grandchildren, reading, boating and traveling.

Sonya Nelson

Sonya joined the Machalek sales team as an Account Executive in July of 2002, and is now one of our senior business development consultants. Sonya brings a wealth of sales and management experience with her to Machalek Communications. Building strategic partnerships has been a focus for Sonya.

Sonya enjoys the supportive and success driven work environment that encompasses Machalek. As part of the sales team, Sonya appreciates being able to demonstrate creativity and commitment to integrity in her work.

Outside of work, Sonya loves to spend time with her family, explore cultural events, travel, performing arts and listening to music.

Pete Sappanos

Pete is a business development specialist at Machalek, and has been with the company since July of 2007. Prior to joining this great sales team, Pete has had a diverse sales career encompassing everything from hi-tech to real estate investing.

Pete enjoys the ever changing and fast paced environment at Machalek and serving, meeting and exceeding our customers expectations.

Pete has 4 children ages 14 to 25, and keeps himself busy away from work as a semi-pro jazz musician.

Adam Staats

Adam is a business development consultant and has been with the company since May 08. His degree in marketing and his diverse sales background make him a great fit for Machalek. He is very excited about the opportunities that Machalek has to offer as well as the services he is able to offer his clients. Adam looks forward to creating a mutually beneficial relationship for his clients.

Outside of work Adam loves spending time with friends and family. He enjoys supporting the local sports teams through their long championship drought. He looks forward to the thaw of spring and summer every year so he can get out and enjoy everything Minnesota has to offer.

Ashley Heaton

Ashley is the Sales & Marketing Assistant for Machalek and has been with the company since July 2008. Having studied both Theatre and Accounting in college and worked both as a performer and administrator with a well-respected theatre company, Ashley comes to Machalek with a well-rounded background full of creativity and organization. Ashley loves to be challenged and to use her multi-tasking skills to help others. She feels incredibly welcomed and inspired by all the talented people she’s had the pleasure to work with at Machalek.

Outside of the office, this Memphis native enjoys playing the piano and guitar, singing, performing, and roller skating. She also loves playing video games and supporting local sports teams. Go Minnesota Roller Girls!

Kevin Culver

Kevin is the Vice President of Operations at Machalek. He's been with the company since May of 2003 and is a tremendous pleasure to work with. Kevin's lengthy background as an IT consultant, developer and logic oriented thought process has served Machalek and our customers well. While no one can really understand a thing he says, the things he creates tend to work and make things better.

Outside of the time Kevin spends trying to improve his score on IQ tests (he's hoping for 50 next time); Kevin enjoys long, mindless hours fishing and sunning his pale white skin. Something about being outsmarted by a fish brings him no end of joy. Amazingly enough, his wife and dog enjoy some of the same pleasure. One can only assume the dog is a great influence in their lives.

Susan Sartor

Susan started her employment with Machalek in February of 2004. Prior to joining the team she had six years management experience over customer service functions. With Machalek, she has grown from a Data Integrity Specialist to Operations Coordinator. She leverages her attention to detail and her gift for multi-tasking by ensuring quality control procedures are followed across our product lines including card decks, eDEKS, email campaigns, and list rental.

Susan enjoys the relaxed work environment of Machalek and her fellow employees. As Operations Coordinator, Susan works with all the team members at Machalek to help keep processes running smoothly.

In her spare time Susan enjoys spending time with family, reading a good book or walking.

Jennifer Follestad

Jen came to Machalek Communications Inc. in April of 2008 doing data entry of post cards. She is very eager to learn more about the business and to see where it may take her in the future. She has spent the last several months busy being a mother and a wife. She enjoys her time at Machalek, she like the fun and energetic people!

Jen has her hands full with her children ages 7, 5 and 2. There are plenty of soccer games and swim meets to go to. Her daughter is also involved in Girl Scouts. Jen is an active member of the PTA at her daughters school also. When the opportunity presents it self, she draws and snaps photographs.

Lauren Wells

Lauren is the Creative Services Director for Machalek and has been with the company since May of 2008. Lauren comes to Machalek with a strong background in Publishing and Web Development. She enjoys the challenging, fast-paced work environment and leading a great team of designers.

Outside of the office, Lauren enjoys spending time with her dog, Dexter, indulging in sushi, and watching old episodes of MST3K.

Mark Pearson

Mark Pearson is the Senior Designer for Machalek and has been with the company since the fall of 1995. Since he joined Machalek, Mark has received several awards for company-wide achievement and service. Machalek Communications, Inc. is Mark’s first full-time "creative services" position.

Mark’s favorite part of the Machalek experience is the opportunity to create something new every day. As Senior Designer, Mark enjoys the challenge to create fresh, dynamic designs that produce results for our clients.

Mark is happily partnered and enjoys spending time with his family. His favorite place to be is home and he devotes much of his free time obsessing over weekend projects. Mark also enjoys Blu-Ray, DVD, video games, buffets, drive-ins and collectible action figures.

Kristine Morical

Kristine (A.K.A. Giggles) is a graphic designer in the creative services department and has been with the company since December of 2006. She earned the nickname Giggles for her great sense of humor and ability to laugh at just about anything no matter how random it may be.

Before joining Machalek Communications, Inc. she worked as an intern at both large and small design firms and attended the College of Visual Arts in St. Paul, MN, where she earned her Bachelors of Fine Arts in Communication Design in 2004.

She enjoys working closely with clients and the Machalek team to develop the best designs possible in both the print and digital realms and is always open to learning new things and taking on new and exciting challenges.

When she’s not at work she enjoys playing with her kitty, spending time with family and friends, working on 3-wheelers or cars with her hubby, jewelry making, scrapbooking, painting, and drawing.

Katie Weunsch

Katie joined the Creative Services team as a Graphic Designer in March of 2007. Since her start she has grown as a designer and learned many new skills, like expanding her knowledge from the print to the digital world. Before working at Machalek Communications Inc, she designed business cards as well as some freelance work for several other companies.

Katie enjoys the great atmosphere and people at Machalek Communications Inc. She likes the great team environment; who challenge her to learn, grow and to create new and fresh designs for every client.

When Katie is not at work, she enjoys running with her dog, biking, disc golf and being outdoors. She also enjoys going out with friends and family.
